The CDC has estimated that Americans that have or had COVID-19 is 10x to 20x greater than the number of people who have tested positive, this data is huge and will help you to understand what I'm about to say

1) With respect to the death rate, we shut down the country because the death rate was projected to be 5% or more. This meant that millions of American were going to die. We now know that the death rate is a small fraction of original projections. We also know certain demographics, elderly and compromised, are far more likely to die, meaning most of america is not at risk. We would NOT have shut down the country if we knew then what we know now about the death rates (this last statement is my opinion).

2) Because we expanded testing and have now tested millions more people than anyone else, we're going to have more positive tests. More on this to follow

3) Because we're now doing antibody tests, we're learning about people who HAD the virus but don't test positive today. Our daily numbers for "new cases" include these people that aren't really a "new case". In some circumstances, a person can be counted twice or multiple times. If they tested positive for COVID-19 in March and now went for an antibody test and tested positive again, that's two cases for the time being. Kinda like voting multiple times, just different.

4) Now to the point of my thread. Since we know millions of Americans have or had COVID-19 and never knew they have or had it, IT'S TOTALLY EXPECTED THAT NEW CASES WILL SURGE AS WE CONTINUE TO TEST MORE. That means NOTHING. What will be important is if the CDC were to increase their estimates about unknown cases from 10x to 20x more than known cases to say 30x or 50x greater than known cases. Until that happens, the increases in positive cases and antibody positives mean NOTHING.

Our media and their parrots will never tell you this. I don't expect to forum simpletons to agree, they are who they are. But I think since they start multiple news for fools threads per day, I'd try to bring a little balance and substance into the house.

Our media is constantly moving the goal posts, and doing such for political gain. You can't change a tiger's stripes. However, you can think for yourself

Agree 100%.

20M-40M will be the number when it is all said and done. 10% of population. Death rate will probably settle between 1-2%. Death rate meaning COVID deaths divided by COVID cases. So, 200K-400K deaths. Masks or no masks, shutdowns or no shutdowns. We are only beginning in the finding of cases. People need to get on board with this, and figure out how to live life with COVID. A vaccine will help of course, and that may be the only way to suppress these numbers.

It just makes for such a nice fear mongering narrative (why stop when they're having so much fun).

I questioned multiple people that said we were opening up too soon as to when the right time was. I got nothing but crickets. Taking a stance like that is cowardly. It's just a convenient way to be able to be critical if the situation presents itself. They clearly have no idea and just take that stance for an indefinite amount of time (and never take into the account the consequences....which is foolhardy). Chop has pointed out (as have I), that there is still a negative correlation on cases and infections vs deaths. I still laugh at the Useful Idiots trying to take a victory lap when deaths have not surged one bit. Most rational people would say if there is a negative correlation, we are either doing a better job of treating this disease or it's not as deadly as people have made it out to be.

On a side note, my boss just got laid off. I last saw her on the 15th (hardly anyone has been into work because of how slow it's been). When I sent her a consolatory text, she told me she had been thinking of me and then informed me that she had contracted the virus. I was like..."What you talkin' about Willis"?! She had symptoms on the 24th and found out on the 26th. Admittedly I was thinking "why did you wait to tell me?", but realized she had a debilitating migraine and probably couldn't think of anything but getting an ice pack on her head to make it better. By the time she told me, it had been 16 days so there was no sense in worrying anyone I had been around because they would have contracted it by now. Btw, she will recover just fine and is in the final stages, so similar to what the CDC has said from the start...."Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and can recover at home without medical care" (their words, not mine). The vast majority of all cases are what would be considered from a statistical standpoint as non-events. Of course, I'm sure the Useful Idiots would have jumped up and down with glee at the start of her illness and told her she was gonna die. It's how they roll.

And the media the left said hydrochloriquine doesn't work just because Trump was bullish on it. They have blood on their hands. Why aren't they trying other repurosed drugs that are effective already against METS and SARS like disulfiram? Fauci needs to be hanged in public.

Unless they figure out a way to fake deaths to a large extent I don’t believe they can keep the fear going for much longer .

When EVERY story leaves out the death number in July and EVERY story the leading stat was deaths in March and April from these very same people you can only come to the conclusion that agenda is taking over .

Its really sad what the media has done . I’ve lost a ton of respect for them and I’m a person who has given them the benefit of the doubt during times when others haven’t .

If you can’t see what’s going on here I don’t know what to say.

Liam and Alex, born two weeks ago today, came home one week ago today. They were flailing away the second they were born

They're doing great, we've been moving them into their new home that their parents closed on yesterday
